Variable Data Printing
Include individual branch details or contact information with variable data printing – perfect if you have multiple locations under one umbrella brand.
Variable data can also be used to sequentially number your bespoke swing tags – ideal for limited edition products with a finite number of pieces.
And variable data doesn’t have to be text. You can also choose individual graphics or other printed elements – meaning you can easily create multiple seasonally appropriate tag designs, all within one print run.
VDP (Variable data printing) is a modern printing technology that allows customers to personalise every printed product in a single print run.
Add different prices, barcodes, messages, images or graphics for each of your printed clothing tags.

How does variable data printing work?
Firstly, you need to create your ‘static’ artwork design template. This is the part of the swing tag that won’t change throughout you print order. Using our speciaist digital printing software, the static artwork and variable data are printed simultaneously onto each swing tag.
There is no need to create multiple versions of your artwork – using variable data printing means this is done for you!
How to set up a VDP print run?
All you need to set up your variable data print run is to create a static artwork design file (make sure to include all the design elements that are to be included in your swing tag base). The variable data that needs printing should be added to a spreadsheet document and saved as a CSV file. Clearly list all the unique data you need added to each individual swing tag.
Can I print unique images on each item?
Yes! And it is simple! Add each image to a database and send them to us along with you static artwork file and your CSV file. Remember to list out the image file names so we can ensure we use the correct files.
Remember…here at SwingTags.co.uk we are happy to help! Just drop us a message or give us a call!
How can I specify how VDP elements are arranged on my print design?
Send us an email (Sales@SwingTags.co.uk) – include your order number in your email so we can make sure we match up your data with the right order. You can also add a note to your order at the checkout. Or add placeholder text to your graphics on a seperate layer to your swing tag design.
Whatever way you choose, we’ll send you a digital proof of your design. The VDP elements will be clearly marked on the artwork so you can see how they will look on your final swing tag design.
